Tropical Data - a partnership helping to assess the burden of trachoma and other NTDs

Tropical Data helps national programmes to collect standardised, epidemiologically robust prevalence data. It provides an end-to-end epidemiological survey support service – from planning and protocol development to training, data processing, health ministry review and approval, and through to application of the survey outputs – to assist national neglected tropical disease programmes.

It builds on the methods developed within the Global Trachoma Mapping Project (GTMP), and is a partnership between the International Trachoma Initiative (core data management service), Sightsavers (project management, logistics, budgeting and training support), RTI International (system technology management and Training of Trainers support), World Health Organization (sets standards and protects country interests), and the London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine (scientific oversight).
