The London Centre for NTD Research is inviting applications to join its Executive Board!

19 Oct 2022

In 2023, LCNTDR marks its 10th anniversary, an important moment to celebrate our achievements but also to reassess our strategic priorities and plan to maximise our contribution to achieve a world free from NTDs.

The London Centre has experienced several changes in recent years. Notably, in 2022, Professor Sir Roy Anderson stepped down as Director after almost ten years of service, the LCNTDR broadened its mission and objectives to align with the World Health Organization road map for neglected tropical diseases 2021-2030, and the Centre welcomed six new member institutions to the fold.

The executive board of the Centre has remained largely the same since 2013.  However, recent changes, including several members retiring or leaving to non-member institutions, have resulted in the opportunity for new members to take a place on the board.

Many of those serving on the board have contributed to the establishment and growth of the Centre over the last nine years and we are grateful for all their support.

In particular, we would like to share our deepest gratitude to:

  • Professor David Rollinson, Global Schistosomiasis Initiative
  • Professor David Mabey, London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine
  • Professor Deborah Ashby, Imperial College London
  • Professor Deirdre Hollingsworth, NTD Modelling Consortium
  • Jane Lillywhite, Imperial College London
  • Dr Lesley Drake, Imperial College London
  • Dr Rachel Pullan, London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine
  • Dr Wendy Harrison, SCI Foundation

We are now inviting LCNTDR members to apply for a board position. The new board will play a critical role in defining the strategic direction of the Centre going forward with the ambition of improving collaboration across institutions in London and NTD-endemic settings in support of achieving targets set in the recently published global NTD road map, and encouraging more students and early career researchers into the field of NTD research.

To learn more about the position, please see the terms of reference (TOR) here. Please note, Executive Team members are voluntary positions and do not receive renumeration.

To make a formal application, please complete the application at the bottom of the TOR and send it with your CV to the LCNTDR Centre Manager, k [dot] forbes [at] imperial [dot] ac [dot] uk (Kathryn Forbes), by 31 October 2022.

Best wishes,
Professor Joanne Webster FMedSci: Director LCNTDR
Ms Kathryn Forbes: Manager LCNTDR
