Introduction to Infectious Disease Modelling
This workshop will provide you with an introduction to mathematical modelling for infectious diseases. Key current issues relating to policy making and health economics will be discussed, such as the impact of treatment on infectious diesase dynamics and the cost-effectiveness of treatment programmes.
Disease models to be covered:
- Neglected Tropical Diseases (including helminths)
- Malaria
- HIV
- Influenza
This practical workshop will put learnt theories into practice. Following the course participants will have a good understanding of key epidemiological principles and basic mathematical models.
Speakers include
Imperial College London
Oxford University Clinical Research Unit
CSIR - National Chemical Laboratory
The Institute of Mathematical Sciences
