Dr Jeremy Hoffman

Dr Jeremy Hoffman is a Clinical Research Fellow based at the International Centre for Eye Health, London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine. He is a member of the research team led by Professor Matthew Burton, working to improve eye health in low and middle-income countries.

He is currently undertaking a PhD investigating the treatment for fungal keratitis, involving managing multi-national trials in Nepal, Tanzania and Uganda. 

Dr Hoffman is an Ophthalmology Specialist Registrar with appointments at Moorfields Eye Hospital and Imperial College Hospitals in London. His clinical interests include external eye diseases and anterior segment surgery.

Dr Hoffman graduated from University College London Medical School in 2010 before undertaking ophthalmology specialist training in North London, working at Moorfields Eye Hospital, Chelsea and Westminster Hospital and the Western Eye Hospial.

He has a passion for international eye health. He undertook the LSHTM East African Diploma of Tropical Medicine and Hygiene in 2012 and subsequently spent time practicing in rural KwaZulu-Natal in South Africa before returning to clinical training in the UK. He will be returning to working abroad later in 2018 when he will be heading to Nepal and then Tanzania to conduct clinical trials there.
