Ailie is a medical entomologist, whose work is currently focused on the transmission of disease by filth flies. She is working on the biology and control of Musca sorbens, the putative vector of trachoma, as part of the Stronger-SAFE team. Other research interests include the control of vectors through exploitation of their olfactory processes, and parasite-vector-host interactions.
