Alison Bettis

Alison is Manager of the LCNTDR. She is also part of the NTD Epidemiology Research Group at Imperial College London, where her primary research objectives are epidemiology and control of lymphatic filariasis (LF) and soil-transmitted helminths (STH) in Southeast Asia. 

Alison's previous research experience has been a mix of qualitative and quantitative studies, in subject areas including refugee health, health equity and access to health services, HIV/AIDS, infectious disease epidemiology, and disease vector control. Her current research interests are NTDs, vector-borne diseases, and zoonotic and emerging/re-emerging infections.  

Alison holds a MSc in Control of Infectious Diseases from the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine, and a BA in Medical Anthropology with minor in Global Health Technologies from Rice University.
