Zulma's research focuses on statistic and mathematical methods to understand the distribution, risk factors and determinants of infectious tropical diseases and the impact of control interventions. She has mainly worked on vector bone diseases including Chagas disease, Zika and Malaria. After finishing her PhD on Infectious Disease Epidemiology, she joined the Vaccine Impact Modelling Consortium (VIMC). She has recently been appointed as MRC Research Fellow and will be looking at the global disease burden of Chikungunya virus, among other topics.
