I am working to combine a career in academic medical anthropology and global public health, with current interests in infectious disease control, sustainable development, biosocial understandings of disease, and the social and political roots of health inequalities. I have a background as a medical doctor, specialising in public health over the last 4 years. I have some experience of research and teaching in Kenya, Tanzania and Ethiopia and now Malawi. Prior to starting my PhD in 2015, I had most recently worked as a health adviser at the Department for International Development (DFID) UK on NTD programmes, and a public health registrar at the Greater London Authority (GLA) on health inequalities.
